Dr. Ir. Muhammad Burhannudinnur, M.Sc., IPU, ASEAN Eng., the Dean of the Faculty of Earth Technology and Energy (FTKE) Universitas Trisakti, conducted a collaboration visit to several campuses in South Korea including Hanyang University, Sejong University, Hongik University, and Kangwon National University. This visit took place from March 5th to March 10th, 2024. The delegation was also accompanied by the Vice Dean I of Academic Affairs of FTKE, Dr. Ir. Suryo Prakoso., MT, and the Secretary of the Department of Petroleum Engineering at FTKE, Samsol ST., MT, as well as Prof. Ir. Asep Kurnia Permadi, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).

The signing of the collaboration agreement with the College of Engineering at Hanyang University was conducted by Dr. Ir. Muhammad Burhannudinnur, M.Sc., IPU, ASEAN Eng., the Dean of the Faculty of Earth Technology and Energy, and Prof. C. H. Kim, the Dean of the College of Engineering at Hanyang University. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Ir. Suryo Prakoso., MT and Prof. K. S. Lee from Hanyang University.

In addition to the signing of the collaboration agreement, the FTKE delegation was invited to tour the facilities supporting academic activities at Hanyang University, followed by a luncheon.

Subsequently, the Dean and the delegation visited Hongik University and were received by Prof. W. S. Ryoo to visit the Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Laboratory where research on CO2 Flooding was ongoing. This visit opened opportunities for several FTKE faculty members to participate in the research, supporting the ongoing doctoral research of FTKE faculty members. The collaboration visit continued to Sejong University where they met with Prof. W. S. Bae from the Department of Energy Resources and Geosystems Engineering, Sejong University, accompanied by Dr. S. D. Lee from Innogeo, and Mr. B.J. Park from EPS-ENE, to explore potential research collaboration in the field of Smart Water EOR.

Furthermore, on Friday, March 8th, 2024, the collaboration visit of FTKE continued to Kangwon National University (KNU) in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, approximately 88 km from Seoul to the northeast. At KNU, the FTKE team was received by Prof. H. J. Baek and Prof. C. H. Park. This visit brought the possibility of collaboration in curriculum development.

The collaboration visits to several universities will be beneficial to support the Internationalization Program of the Faculty of Earth Technology and Energy and fulfill the University’s Key Performance Indicator 6. From this collaboration visit, opportunities for collaboration with the four visited universities have emerged, including joint research, joint publication, joint educational programs such as dual degrees, visiting scholars, sabbaticals, scholarship programs, faculty exchanges, student exchanges, and other activities supporting the sustainability of education at the Faculty of Earth Technology and Energy, Universitas Trisakti. As an initial step in realizing the collaboration, Prof. K. S. Lee from Hanyang University will be one of the invited speakers at the International Conference organized by FTKE on July 24, 2024.
