On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, the Faculty of Earth and Energy Technology Universitas Trisakti held a Training and Simulation of Fire and Earthquake Disasters Inside Building D, concurrently forming a Disaster Evacuation Team on each floor, in collaboration with the West Jakarta Fire Department.

Fire is one of the dangerous threats that can result in casualties if we do not take appropriate measures to prevent it. This is the basis for conducting Fire Extinguisher Training and Simulation. To prevent fire incidents and reduce their impact, adequate knowledge about fire and the fire extinguishing equipment we have in the building area is needed.

Assistant Dean II, Ir Dewi Syavitri, M.Sc., Ph.D., as the direct person in charge of this activity, stated the importance for all of us to participate in and understand this training so that we can perform our duties with an open heart and spirit in case of unwanted events. Building D is where we work, which we must maintain and preserve for the safety of us all, Vice Dean I, Dr. Suryo Prakoso, S.T., M.T., mentioned during the opening and welcoming remarks.

The training materials presented include: Introduction to Fire Extinguishing Equipment and its usage, Characteristics of fire sources and their control, operational standard procedures for fire extinguishing, Fire risk analysis, Emergency response to fires, and Fire management.

The training participants consisted of 25 individuals, including Faculty and Educational Staff, who will be designated as the Evacuation and Rescue Team in the event of fire and earthquake disasters occurring inside the building. A crucial aspect gained from this is the knowledge and initial handling when disasters occur, for the comfort and safety of all of us can be achieved, from us and for all of us.
